Uttarakhand Sanctions ₹93 Crore for Roads, Tourism and Infrastructure Expansion
The Uttarakhand government has approved infrastructure and development projects worth nearly ₹93 crore, with investments spread across tourism, transportation, public infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives. The approvals were cleared by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as part of the state's broader effort to improve connectivity, strengthen public facilities and support sustainable development.
A significant portion of the funding, ₹56.29 crore, has been earmarked for developing tourism infrastructure near the Golju Temple in Almora. The project will utilize land belonging to the Public Works Department and the Animal Husbandry Department to enhance visitor amenities and promote regional tourism.
Road infrastructure also received fresh allocations. In Tehri Garhwal, ₹3.32 crore has been approved for the reconstruction and improvement of the Gyansu–Gwad–Passi–Budogi motor road. Meanwhile, ₹1.23 crore has been sanctioned for widening, upgrading and paving roads with interlocking tiles in the Bhaniyawala rehabilitation area under the Doiwala Assembly constituency in Dehradun district.
Beyond transport and tourism, the funding package includes investments in helipad development, police housing, school reconstruction, geothermal energy surveys and rooftop solar subsidy programs across multiple districts. These projects are expected to improve public infrastructure, enhance accessibility in remote regions and encourage the adoption of clean energy across Uttarakhand.
The latest approvals reflect the state's continued focus on integrated infrastructure development while supporting economic growth, tourism and sustainable public services.
