The Delhi Government has reaffirmed its plan to complete the city's first double-decker flyover by December 2026, while approving a revised project cost of ₹291 crore as the project moves into its final phase.
The landmark infrastructure project is being developed jointly by the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). During a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved the revised estimate, increasing the project cost from the earlier ₹220.10 crore to account for additional construction work and execution-related delays.
The 1.4-kilometre integrated structure will connect Yamuna Vihar and Bhajanpura Metro stations, combining a six-lane elevated flyover with a precast Metro viaduct on a shared corridor. Once operational, the project is expected to improve road connectivity while supporting seamless Metro operations within the same elevated structure.
This will be Delhi's first integrated double-decker transport corridor, designed to optimize urban space and enhance mobility for both road users and public transport commuters.
