The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated measures to reduce emissions from diesel-powered generators along the Dwarka Expressway, with Retrofit Emission Control Devices (RECDs) being installed on 25 generator sets across the 8.7-kilometre Package-IV section.

The initiative aims to curb harmful exhaust emissions from diesel generator sets used along the expressway corridor. RECD technology is designed to capture or reduce pollutants released during diesel combustion, helping improve local air quality.

The move highlights the growing focus on environmental management alongside major highway infrastructure development. As urban transport corridors expand, controlling emissions from construction-related and supporting equipment remains an important part of building more sustainable infrastructure.

NHAI’s initiative reflects the need to balance infrastructure growth with measures that minimise its environmental impact.
