Indian homebuyers are showing a clear preference for larger residential spaces, with 3BHK homes emerging as the most preferred configuration in the first half of 2026.
According to the Anarock Consumer Sentiment Survey – H1 2026, around 48% of respondents said they prefer 3BHK homes, highlighting continued demand for properties that offer more space and flexibility.
The survey also indicates that the ₹9 million to ₹10.5 million price range is attracting significant buyer interest, pointing toward a strong demand segment for mid-to-upper-mid-market housing.
The preference for 3BHKs reflects a broader shift in how buyers evaluate homes. Beyond the number of bedrooms, larger configurations can offer additional space for work-from-home setups, family requirements, guests and changing lifestyle needs.
For developers, the trend provides an important signal: buyers are not only looking for a home, but increasingly evaluating how well the space can adapt to their future needs.
