The project is being developed through TP Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power. It includes a 400 kV double-circuit transmission corridor spanning 162 circuit kilometres (CKM) along with a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Jalpura, designed with a total transformation capacity of 1,000 MVA.

The transmission corridor connects the strategic power nodes of Khurja and Jalpura, with the two circuits covering approximately 81 km each. The new high-voltage link is expected to enhance the movement of electricity across the region and support growing power requirements in Western Uttar Pradesh and the NCR.

Khurja serves as an important transmission node for the region, particularly in facilitating power flows towards Noida and the wider NCR. The project therefore adds another important layer of grid infrastructure to an area experiencing continued industrial, commercial and urban development.

The commissioning highlights the growing importance of robust transmission infrastructure in supporting regional power demand, improving grid connectivity and enabling more efficient movement of electricity across major consumption centres.
