Berger Paints India Limited has achieved a significant milestone in its construction chemicals business, crossing ₹1,500 crore in revenue during FY26. The achievement highlights the company’s expanding presence in construction chemicals, beyond its traditional paints portfolio.
Developed over the past seven to eight years, Berger Paints’ construction chemicals portfolio has grown across waterproofing, repair, tiling and other construction-related applications. The company’s expansion comes as demand for specialized construction solutions continues to rise across both new construction and renovation projects.
Growing Faster Than the Market
Berger Paints’ construction chemicals business has recorded more than 25% CAGR over the past three years, significantly exceeding the estimated 8–10% growth of the broader waterproofing market.
The growth reflects increasing awareness and adoption of specialized construction chemical solutions among contractors, construction professionals and consumers.
The broader Indian construction chemicals market is also expected to maintain strong momentum. A June 2026 estimate from Mordor Intelligence puts the market at around US$2.53 billion in 2026, with projections indicating it could reach US$4.47 billion by 2031, representing a CAGR of approximately 12.06%.
Berger Paints Looks Beyond Paints
The company sees construction chemicals as a natural extension of its existing role in building protection and surface solutions. Its strategy has focused on developing products for evolving construction requirements while expanding geographic reach and improving awareness of the category.
With infrastructure development, new housing, renovation and repair activity continuing to generate demand, construction chemicals are becoming an increasingly important part of India's building materials ecosystem.
For Berger Paints, crossing the ₹1,500 crore mark signals that construction chemicals are no longer simply an adjacent category, but an increasingly meaningful growth engine within its broader building solutions business.
